Hattiesburg Clinic

Hattiesburg Clinic, Hattiesburg, Miss., saved $383,000 in nine months with VHA's Non-Acute Care Services. "Every item that we've checked on Marketplace has been 10 percent to 20 percent cheaper than we could have gotten it for elsewhere," says David Mimms, Hattiesburg's director of purchasing systems.

Areas of savings include a $75,000 medical-surgical savings and a $63,000 lab savings. "What I see in VHA and Novation is their willingness and ability to help us achieve the goals we've set for Hattiesburg Clinic, and we'll continue working with them to get to where we need to be."

Secrets to Saving with your GPO
Working with your GPO representative can help you save significantly on the supplies, services and capital equipment you need to run your business. In cost studies conducted in 2008, VHA was able to save members about 15 percent, compared to other GPO contracts or self contracting activity.
